DVD

We need some help.

For our next album (which we are still writing, and will begin recording very soon), we are putting together a DVD that will be included as a bonus disc. Details on what will be included on the DVD will be annouced at a later date, but one of the things we’d like to include is some video content submitted by fans.

You can submit pretty much anything you want, but we have a few guidelines and suggestions (see below) that you might want to take a look at. Basically, we’re trying to leave it pretty much wide open so you can be creative and hopefully come up with some interesting stuff. Obviously, we’re asking for video content, but if you don’t have access to a video camera you can do something else: artwork, photos, animation, audio recording, etc. Keep in mind that we will require that you sign a release form (which you can find down below) to allow us to use whatever you send in. If you’re not comfortable with that, we can understand, but unfortunately we won’t be able to include your submission on the DVD.

So here are some guidelines and suggestions:

* First of all, submissions must be all original content. Meaning that you can’t record something off of the TV or from another DVD and you can’t include any music, words or images that you do not own the copyright to.
* We will accept submissions in the following formats: MiniDV (preferred), VHS, VHS-C, Hi-8/8mm, DVD, CD-ROM. We prefer MiniDV or one of the other tape formats, but we’ll try to accept pretty much anything you have. Obviously, for stuff other than video, we can accept it in whatever format you have. If it is scanned photos or artwork, the higher the resolution the better.
* Answer the following question: “What is the Ocular Noise Machine?”
* Answer the following question: “What is Sinch?”
* Explain how you discovered the band, an experience you had at a show, an experience you had listening to our music, or anything that is somehow related to the band.
* Explain something that is completely random and unrelated to this band. Show us your collection of questionable medical devices. Take us on a tour of your local UFO landing site. Interview your local gas station attendent about the possibility of a fourth dimension. Whatever.

All submissions should be sent to:

Sinch
P.O. Box 1624
Doylestown, PA 18901

All submissions MUST INCLUDE the following, signed release form:

Click here to download the release form.

We don’t have a specific deadline just yet, but try to have your submission to us by the end of August. We will probably have a more specific date as we get closer to completing the album. Also, we will not be returning any submissions, so be sure to make copies before you send anything in.

Feel free to email us if you have any questions.

NEW SONGS / OLD SONGS

Over this past weekend we recorded and mixed demo versions of three new songs. They turned out extremely well. We hope to be able to put at least one of them up on the site very soon.

In the meantime, as I promised a few people on the message boards, I have put up all 6 tracks from the Project: Bluebird EP. The songs used to be available on mp3.com, but apparently they changed their policy (without telling anyone) to only allowing 3 songs available for download at any one time. So now they’re all back up for those of you who don’t have them all. You can find them in the multimedia section, as usual.

We’ve kind of slacked off with adding new stuff every week, but I ran into some problems with some of the live recordings I have. I don’t have the equipment I need to get everything together, but I’m working on it. Look for some other new stuff over the next couple of weeks.

OCULAR NOISE MACHINE: VOL 1

It’s Wednesday again, and that means we’ve added some crazyness to the site. Last week it was the hotness. This week it’s crazyness. And by that I mean the official release of the full length debut album from Ocular Noise Machine. If you don’t have a tolerance for experimentation, you may want to skip this one. It’s just crazyness is all I’m saying.

Take it to the house…

ABSOLUTELY LIVE

Over the next few months we will be adding brand new content to the site EVERY WEEK. Mostly in the form of new mp3s and video files, but we may add some other stuff as well. You’ll just have to wait and see. Check back every Wednesday (give or take a month) to get the new stuff.

To start things off, we’ve put up mp3s of a full live set from the Stone Sour / Chevelle tour. This particular show took place on 11/05/02 in Anaheim, CA at the House of Blues. Some of you may have heard it when it was broadcast a few weeks back on the syndicated radio show Absolutely Live - High Voltage.

Anyway, click here to experience the hotness.

SELF TITLED DEBUT ALBUM

Tomorrow, after about a year and a half of recording, mixing, remixing, waiting, and pushing back dates, our self-titled debut album will be available in stores. For all you people over in the UK, the album is available today.

Go to the store section for online ordering info.

We are still currently on tour and will be continuing on our co-headlining dates with Epidemic probably through the end of August. After that we will continue to tour, but have no specific plans as of yet. We’ve been getting a lot of email asking when we are coming to Europe and Australia and unfortunately, we just don’t know right now. But as soon as we know about anything, it goes up on the site. Be sure to always check the show schedule for the latest info.

You can get our updates from the road in the tour journal section.

Thanks to all the street teamers who have been helping out with promotions handing stuff out at shows. Also, thanks to everyone who’s been coming out to the shows on this tour. We really appreciate all the support.

EP / VIDEO / LYRICS / STREAMING

Today marks the release of “Imitating the Screen” (pictured right), a 3-song EP that also happens to be our first official release on Roadrunner Records. This is a very limited edition of 3500 copies and will only be available at certain stores (or at our shows). See below for the list of locations.

Update: You can now order it online from Gallery of Sound. Click here to order.

The EP will also be available at the following locations:

Record Express (Conneticut, Massachusetts)
Dimple Records (California)
Zia Records (Arizona)
Pop Tunes (Tennessee)
CD World (New Jersey)
Bull Moose (Maine, New Hampshire)
Record Exchange (Virginia, North Carolina)
Gallery of Sound (Pennsylvania)
Cat’s Music (Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida)
Streetside Records (Missouri, Kansas)

The video for “Something More” is now available for online viewing. You can find it in the video section. It will also be included on the Imitating the Screen EP as an enhanced element.

We’ve been getting a lot of requests for lyrics lately, se we’ve added a few songs to the lyrics page. More will be added as we get closer to the album release.

Speaking of the album, you can listen to it online on the Roadrunner Records website. We will be adding a song a week until all the songs are available. Last week they released “To Die in Fall,” the lead track off the new album, and this week (sometime today) we will be posting track number two, “433 (Hypothetical Situation).” The album player incorprates some visual/interactive elements, so even if you’ve heard the album, you may want to check it out anyway. Go here.

Imitating the Screen EP

Imitating the Screen

On July 9, we will be releasing a limited edition EP called, “Imitating the Screen.”

Only 3500 copies will be pressed and will only be available through retail chains of the Music Monitor Network (see below for a list of stores) or from us at any show on our upcoming tour.

The track listing for the EP is as follows:

01 - Seven
02 - Bitmap
03 - Requiem

The first two tracks are from our upcoming self-titled debut (July 30), and the third is a previously unreleased track. The video for “Something More” will also be included on the CD as an enhanced element.

For those of you who received a copy of the “Something More” single, the artwork probably looks familiar.

The EP will be available at the following stores:

Record Express (Conneticut, Massachusetts)
Dimple Records (California)
Zia Records (Arizona)
Pop Tunes (Tennessee)
CD World (New Jersey)
Bull Moose (Maine, New Hampshire)
Record Exchange (Virginia, North Carolina)
Gallery of Sound (Pennsylvania)
Cat’s Music (Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida)
Streetside Records (Missouri, Kansas)

Update: If you are not near any of these stores you can order a copy online through the CD World website.

Also, we first posted here that we would be sending copies out to members of the fan club. Unfortunately we’re not going to be able to do that, so you’ll have to buy a copy at a show, at one of these stores or order online through CD World.

Lots of News

On June 10, “Something More” was officially released to radio. During this past week, the song was #2 Most Added at Rock, Alternative and Mainstream radio. The week before that (which was even before it was officially released!) it was #2 Most Added at Active Rock. Basically what that means is that the song was added to more radio stations than any other song that week. (except one, obviously, or we would have been #1) Thanks to everyone who’s been calling in and requesting the song. Things are going very well.

Click here for the list of radio stations that are currently playing “Something More” during regular rotation.

We’re also showing up on some other charts this week. “Something More” debuted at #69 on the Friday Morning Quarterback’s Top 100, which was the highest debut this week. The FMQB site measures rock radio airplay. Again, thanks to to everyone who’s been calling in for us.

As you may have seen on the Roadrunner News page, we will be releasing an EP before the release of our new album. It will feature 2 songs from the album (Seven and Bitmap) and one previously unreleased song called “Requiem.” It will be available in stores for only ONE DOLLAR. We’re looking to release it in the first week of July, but we should have an exact date (and more info on where you can pick it up) within the next few days.

Also, some info on our two upcoming shows:

Tomorrow’s show in Poughkeepsie, NY will also feature the band Vex Red. We just found this out at the last minute, but thought that it was worth mentioning as they are a pretty good band who you might have heard of. If you’re in the area, it should be a pretty cool show.

The June 24 show at the Pontiac Grille will be an ALL AGES show. The show starts at 8:00pm and we will be going on first, so don’t be late. Also added to the bill is System Failure, another really good local band. Check the shows page for details.

Tour dates are coming soon. Stay tuned…

Also, photos from some recent shows will be up soon.
