I’m not gonna lie and say that we now have all the time in the world but, starting today, we have a new SinchArmy website. It’s sort of like Facebook but for Sinch fans. You can create and customize a profile, upload photos and videos, comment on stuff, write your own blog, create groups (Australian Sinch Fans for example) and “a whole lot more.”

So, uh…. what are you waiting for, private? Get in there and give us 20.

Are you the kind of Sinch fan that’s always pushing your friends to listen to our music? We hear that from a lot of people and we’re finally able to give a little bit back. So, now instead of just working for free you can actually make money by helping to sell our music!

We’re proud to announce the Sinch Affiliate Program!

That link will take you to the E-junkie Affiliate sign up page. Register for an account and you’ll get unique links you can use to send people our way. If they buy something, you’ll get credit to the tune of 10% of the selling price. That’s $0.99 for our full albums and $0.49 for our EPs. It also counts towards our new package deals, so for those you’ll make even more.

On top of the affiliate percentage, we’ll be keeping an eye on who’s helping out the most. I can’t say exactly what the benefits will be at this point, but we’ll definitely be taking care of anyone who sends a lot of people our way.

You can post your affiliate links on your own website, Myspace profile, Facebook page or any other place you can post stuff online (forums, etc). You can even just email the links directly to anyone you think might be interested.

So, get your account created and see what you can do. I’ll say right up front that we really appreciate anyone who takes the time to do this. I know our fans have been helping spread the word for years, so it’s about time we let you guys get something out of it.

Now you can post (almost) any Sinch song on your website!

The site we mentioned a couple weeks ago, iJigg, allows us to post as many songs as we want. And they all come with codes that let people embed them anywhere on the web.

So far we’ve posted all the songs from Subdivisions, Clearing the Channel and Sinch, and we’ll be posting more soon.

If you’d like to post one of our songs on your website, go to the new Post Music page and grab the code for whatever song you want!

It should work on any website, but let us know if you have any problems.

I recently found a new site called Grupthink that’s pretty interesting. Members can post questions — anything from “Who is your favorite comedian?” to “Do you adhere to, or identify with, any particular belief system/religion?”

As you might expect, in trying it out I decided to post a Sinch-related question:

Best Sinch Song?

I spent a little time adding the songs from Clearing the Channel and our self titled album, and at some point decided I would come back later and finish it. I went back to find that none of the songs had been voted on and the #1 answer with a grand total of 6 votes is now “Who is Sinch?”

I’m sure most of you have an opinion on what our best songs are, so I figured I’d post it here and see if we can get some real answers. Head over to Grupthink and pick your favorites.

Once you create a free account you can add new answers (if your favorite song isn’t there yet) and you can post your own questions. If you add any new questions to the site, post them in the comments so we can all get in on the action.

It’s interesting the way the voting works. You can actually vote for every song if you want to. By default they will be ranked in the order you vote on them (first vote being your #1 favorite), or you can reorder your votes on the right side.

Maybe we’ll sweep the Grammys. Or maybe we’ll play 5 shows on 5 continents in 5 days. Or maybe we’ll just drive a van into a brick wall. Who knows? I certainly don’t. What I do know is that something will happen and if you stay tuned here at Sinch.net (and the still-sorta-new-but-not-really-fully-realized-yet Sinch.tv), you can come along for the ride.

Hopefully everyone survived 2006 without too much of a hassle. (These guys didn’t.) We managed to coast into 2007-town on fumes, but we’re getting gassed up and ready to get back on the road. (Metaphorically speaking. We don’t actually have touring plans yet. And I apologize for how stupid that was.)

Anyway, this should be one for the books. Or, I should say, one in which we (maybe) actually release a book. You’ll have to wait and see exactly what that means (we’re still not totally sure yet either).

In all seriousness we do have some stuff planned for this year, most of which will be able to be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what part of the world you live in (as long as you have access to a computer).

SinchCast will be back in some form or another. Sinch.tv will be getting some more content. We have some new music we’re working on. And those are just the first 3 things. There’s at least 1 more after that. At least.

So, let’s close out 2006 with a little piece of good news:

This week, “Identity Theft” reached #2 on the LoudCity charts for 525.com Power Tracks! And this isn’t some chart with 200 bands you never heard of and then us at #2. We beat out bands like Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Nonpoint (they’re not fucking around this time) and plenty of others I’m sure you’ve heard of. It’s not Billboard or anything like that, but we’ll take what we can get.

Request Sinch on 525.com and help us take over this chart. I’m sending them some more music so feel free to request some other songs as well.

Speaking of Battles of the Bands: We’re playing in one on October 23!

And believe it or not, you can buy tickets for it right here on the site! Seriously. They’ll be mailed right to your house! And then you can come to the show and vote for us and it’ll be the greatest show that ever happened.

Thanks to everyone who voted for us, we finished as one of the top 20 bands in the Fresh Films contest. That means we were eligible to have our music featured in any of the films.

Fresh Films Atlanta chose “Silence Broken” for their film “The Testimony of Saint Grey“. You can watch it online right now and vote for them as many times as you want! Voting for them is like voting for us, so get over there and make it happen. If they win this thing, that’s even more exposure for our music, which is always a good thing.

There are a bunch of different rounds to this thing but it looks like the first stage is online voting. So we need everyone to get the word out on this and get people voting.

We’re currently #3 in the Philadelphia area, but we need to be #1!! We can do this!! Yesterday we were at #30 in Philadelphia and in the #200s overall, so I know a lot of you are voting already. Great work on this!!

Anyway, to help promote this there are several things you can do:

1. Go there and vote yourself!
2. Send a bulletin to all your myspace friends asking them to vote for us. If you are more active on other sites (Live Journal, Friendster, etc) that works too!
3. Post a link to vote for us on your profile.
4. Send messages directly to people who you know are Sinch fans. Our Friend’s list is a good place to start, but if you Search Myspace and under “Search MySpace Profiles by”, select “Music” and search for “Sinch”, you can find even more people. This will give you anyone who has us listed in their Music section…
5. Post about this on other music related message boards and sites that you normally post on. You don’t want to randomly start spamming message boards… that usually doesn’t work too well. But if you are already an active member somewhere, you can probably get a bunch of people there to help out. Pretty much any online community that you are active in, whether its music related or not, is a good place to promote.
6. Post links in your friend’s comments (especially ones who have a lot of their own friends) so people who visit their profile will see it too.
7. Email anyone you know who might be willing to take a minute and vote… even if they’re not Sinch fans (but they should be!)
8. You tell us!! We know there are probably some other good ways to promote this so let us know anything we left out!

With a lot of the Myspace stuff… don’t be afraid to repost this several times. When people get a lot of bulletins and comments on their profile, they get pushed down pretty fast, so it’s good to repost every so often to make sure they get seen!

Eventful Demand

Eventful is a new service for people to share information on Events — shows, public appearances, protests, whatever. The cool part is that they let you demand events that you want to see in your area (ie- Sinch shows). Once a demand is created, other people can add their vote to it (almost like the social news sites like Digg.com).

Something like this will be very helpful for us to know where the demand is for our shows. Not only will it let us know where we’re most wanted, but it will help us show venues and promoters that people are willing to come out and see us.

So if you’re still waiting for us to play a show in your area, get on there and start demanding. It might be a good idea to post your demands in the blog comments or the fourms (depending on where you’re reading this)… so people in the same area can vote on them instead of having to create new ones. I’ll also repost any demands that get submitted on the blog and the shows page, and send them out to our mailing list, so more people will see them.

They also have a Groups feature, so maybe someone could create a Sinch Fans group and start recruiting people to get their demands on the site. We’re also looking for people who would be interested on starting fan groups on MySpace and Flickr and anywhere else they allow groups. I’ll have a full post on that soon, but in the meantime feel free to let us know if that’s something you’d be interested in.
