Mailbag: RESPECK!

From: Siya
Date: May 20, 2008

Hey guys…i’m mailing from South Africa, just wanna say i love your music. So much so I dont have a favorite song, me and my best friend changed favorite songs every week so we decided just to let that go. Amazing music guys…RESPECK! (lol! love the “prove you’re human” bit)

Dear Ali G,

I didn’t know you lived in South Africa. That’s pretty cool. Your best friend is Borat, right? You should have him email us as well. That would be very exciting.

Anyway, there’s no rule that says you have to have a favorite song. Or a favourite song. You do, however, have to have a favorite album, a favorite band member, a favourite colour (but not a favorite color) and a favorite outrageous celebrity TV moment. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce ‘em.

I expect a full report on my desk by 0800 hours.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

My iPod just hit the Stolen (feat. Walter Schreifels) track. It pulled me back to your site.

I don’t know that I have a “favorite track” but there are a couple of “favorite songs from sinchcasts that I’d love to hear shiny studio versions of.”

That list is a tie between Stolen and Contrary to Popular Belief. I love those songs.

I think Arctic Ocean might be my favorite Sinch track overall. Kimbellia is probably my favorite Bluskreen track.

And I’m grateful to you guys for sticking Auto Pilot’s “Burden of the Stone” on that sinchcast, cool band.

Was that enough sucking up to get you guys to make studio versions of those tracks?

Thanks for coming back! We’re gonna be in the studio sometime this year so I’ll definitely mention the idea to everyone else. If we have some extra time we might be able to record a few of these kind of songs that never got a real recording.

That would be excellent. I suppose I’ll have my fingers crossed that everything comes together really smoothly in the studio and you wind up recording a slew of bonus songs to mete out over little EPs, or digital downloads or something.

Either way, I win.
