“Identity Theft” Gets Paintball Treatment

Here’s another video via YouTube featuring the song “Identity Theft” set to people playing Paintball. The song was featured on the 2005 XBOX game, “Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball”. I did play paintball once. It was fun. The paintballs hurt me. Thanks rocxtreme!!

“Seven” Gets Anime Treatment

Being a huge fan of (certain) anime over the years, it was great to see this video on YouTube. Thanks ZephXRin!!!

Fresh Films

Fresh Films

Thanks to everyone who voted for us, we finished as one of the top 20 bands in the Fresh Films contest. That means we were eligible to have our music featured in any of the films.

Fresh Films Atlanta chose “Silence Broken” for their film “The Testimony of Saint Grey“. You can watch it online right now and vote for them as many times as you want! Voting for them is like voting for us, so get over there and make it happen. If they win this thing, that’s even more exposure for our music, which is always a good thing.

Click here for the Fresh Films website!

Then click on “FILMS” and then on Atlanta on the left to watch the film. Please vote for them too! You can vote more than once, so just keep voting as much as you have time for!

Bodog Show Announced

Bodog Battle of the Bands

The next round in the Bodog Battle of the Bands will be taking place Wednesday, August 16th at the North Star Bar in Philly. We will be competing against 10 other local Philly bands to move on to the next round so we really need your help.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16
North Star Bar
27th & Poplar St
Philadelphia, PA

Show starts at 7:30pm. We won’t know our time slot until the night before so try to get there on time!

We need as many people as possible to come to this show. If you’re anywhere near the Philly area and will be free that night PLEASE COME! We need you guys! Voting will take place at the venue on the night of the show, so if you don’t show up, you can’t vote.

We have advance tickets that we’re selling for $10. If we sell the most tickets we have first choice of what time slot we want to play, which really makes a difference. So if you’re planning on coming please try to get your tickets from us.

Buy Tickets

Buying the tickets online requires sending us the money through PayPal. If you can’t do that for some reason, or you know us personally and would just rather buy them directly from us, contact us through the site or find me on AIM (dansinch) and we’ll work something out.

The way this show works is that 10 bands will each be playing a 30 minute set. On the back of everyone’s ticket stub is a place to write your favorite 3 bands of the night (in order). There will also be judges who will be scoring each band on performance, orginality, style, etc. And the winners will be chosing by a combination of those two factors. 2 bands will be chosen with this method and then a 3rd “wildcard” band will be chosen by online voting for 7 days after the show. So if for some reason we’re not one of the top 2 bands, be ready to do some serious online voting to keep us in the race!

If we make it past this show, there are two more rounds to narrow the Philly bands down to one and then in the final round the top band from each city will play a nationally televised show! We’ll have more info as we go along, but for now we need everyone at this show! Seriously! We’re not fucking around this time!

With your guys help I think we have a chance to go all the way!

An “Earth’s Crust Tidal Wave” Just Doesn’t Sound Good

This video shows what could happen if a giant meteor hit the Earth. Anyone with a bit of common sense could tell you that giant meteors hitting the Earth is not good. But seeing it actually happen (or a simulation of it anyway) just shows how not good it would really be.

Unfortunately the narration is in Japanese, but on the YouTube page there’s a pretty long description of what’s going on. Here’s some of the good parts:

The velocity of the meteorite is 70,000 km/h. But the meteorite is bigger than we can imagine, so that it appears much slower… The earth’s crust of 10km in thickness where ground in the earth is composed is wholly peeled off. This is called, “Earth’s crust tidal wave”. There is 1km width of the rock, and it flies to the sky it by the impact. The impact surges to the Japanese Islands and, as a result, the Japanese Islands are crushed. The splinter of the crushed rock easily exceeds the height of 1000Km. After exceeding the atmosphere it reaches space. Afterwards, the splinter of the rock falls again in surface of the earth. The edge of Crater completed by the collision of the meteorite is 7000m in height. It looks like a huge mountain range. The diameter of Crater has 4000Km. Crater is big to swallow a part from Guam to a Chinese continent. But, it was only an introductory chapter of the tragedy that would start in the future…..

SinchCast Will Return After These Messages

As you may have noticed, there hasn’t been a new SinchCast in almost a month. I knew at some point we were gonna need a break. I hadn’t planned to take a break now but it just sort of happened on its own. Sorry we didn’t tell anyone what’s going on.

We actually have one more podcast already recorded that I’ll try to post this week. It strays a bit from the usual formula when Jamie’s dad walks in and sort of takes over the show for a while. I wasn’t sure if it would be interesting or funny to people who don’t know Jamie’s dad, but I guess at this point, its better than nothing. I’m sure at least some of you will enjoy it. Plus, you still get a new unreleased track, so there’s always that.

Beyond that, I’m not exactly sure what we’re doing. Think of everything up until now as “Season 1″ of the podcast (Special Edition Criterion DVD coming soon!). I’d like to try some new things and change the format up a bit, but I haven’t really figured it all out yet. Basically, I think we can do something that will appeal to more than just our hardcore fanbase. We appreciate all the support we get from you guys, but at the same time we need to try to expand the whole thing a bit.

So, “SinchCast 2: Electric Boogaloo” is coming soon. And so is SINCH.TV. I swear! When we originally said “coming soon”, we meant “in about a year or some shit,” which is actually pretty soon now.
